Pusiano 2018

It’s 2018 when I had a very beautiful carpfishing session on Pusiano lake.

I was there for the first time in 2017 (without results) but this time I was determined to catch something.

At this time I was (with a friend) at the fishing station number 18 (named Moiana Baja 2)

And yes, it didn’t go bad

Pusiano 2017

In 2017 I have the first carpfishing experience in Pusiano lake.

Between the districts of Como and Lecco you can find a lake rich in mysteries and curiosities to discover, but it isn’t Lake Como, we are talking about Lake of Pusiano. Even though less known, the lake is so appreciated by local people to be called ‘the gem of Brianza’.

The first human settling traces in this area date from the prehistoric age: about 8000 years ago, the ancient inhabitants of these places have built lake dwellings on the lake of Pusiano,Lake Annone and Lake Montorfano- at the time the land was mostly covered by reed thickets, forest and heath. The Carpani-Beauharnais’ palace instead offers several historic references to a more modern age: around ‘500 the noble family Carpani built it and then the palace became property of the prince Eugenio Beauharnais, viceroy of Italy and Napoleon stepson. Today, the Pusiano local government owns the palace and manages it for a public use.

Lake of Pusiano keeps on surprising us and while we are walking on the shore, we discover the motor ship Enigma , the result of the union between innovation and commitment to environment . The motor ship, entirely realised in steel and powered by solar energy, allows making a tour around the lake. The most interesting place is certainly the ‘ Isola dei Cipressi’ , famous for its particular flora and fauna, which have inspired many artists and literates.

How to reach: you can reach Pusiano by bus from Como city centre in half an hour. Experts advice: it would be surely more suggestive to visit the Lake of Pusiano the night of 4t h august- to celebrate the feast of Madonna della Neve , local people lighten the lake with small lights!

It was the first time that I visited this wonderful lake and I loved it from the first time. There are a lot of spots where fishing and in this case I was with a friend of mine at the fishing station number 27 (named Baja Isola 2).

This time the fishing session did not go well, but I will always carry the beautiful memory of that adventure with me.

Po river Carpfishing

Here we are to tell you about a fantastic week of carpfishing in the Po River.

Po is a river that flows eastward across northern Italy starting from the Cottian Alps. The Po flows either 652 km (405 mi) or 682 km (424 mi) – considering the length of the Maira, a right bank tributary. The headwaters of the Po are a spring seeping from a stony hillside at Pian del Re, a flat place at the head of the Val Po under the northwest face of Monviso. The Po then extends along the 45th parallel north before ending at a delta projecting into the Adriatic Sea near Venice. The slope of the valley decreases from 0.35% in the west to 0.14% in the east, a low gradient. Along its path lie 450 standing lakes.

It has a drainage area of 74,000 km² in all, 70,000 in Italy, of which 41,000 is in montane environments and 29,000 on the plain. The Po is the longest river in Italy; at its widest point its width is 503 m (1,650 ft). It is characterized by its large discharge (several rivers over 1,000 km have a discharge inferior or equal to the Po). As a result of its characteristics, the river is subject to heavy flooding. Consequently, over half its length is controlled with argini, or dikes.

The river flows through many important Italian cities, including Turin, Piacenza and Ferrara. It is connected to Milan through a net of channels called navigli, which Leonardo da Vinci helped design. Near the end of its course, it creates a wide delta (with hundreds of small channels and five main ones, called Po di MaestraPo della PilaPo delle TollePo di Gnocca and Po di Goro) at the southern part of which is Comacchio, an area famous for eels. The Po valley was the territory of Roman Cisalpine Gaul, divided into Cispadane Gaul (south of the Po) and Transpadane Gaul (north of the Po).
